The University of St Andrews Football Club currently has over 200 members, making us one of the largest, most exciting and fastest growing clubs at the University. The club has made great strides forward in the last few years, particularly since the appointment of Stuart Milne as full time-Director of Football back in 2011 (the only full-time Director of Football in Scottish University Sport). In this time, a performance programme has been created, consisting of technical sessions, strength and conditioning, video analysis, physio, pre season training camps and a professional preparation for all squads on match days. A wealth of investment from the University has put in place state-of-the-art facilities, consistently attracting the likes of FC Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City.
In recent seasons the club has achieved unprecedented success on the pitch, including seven promotions and three wins and an expansion from three men’s teams to six, and from one women’s teams to three. Both sections of the club also have development squads who train weekly and offer players who are more inclined to play the game recreationally. Off the pitch, our efforts in engaging with the local community have seen us recognised as Volunteer Club of the Year in 2012 and 2013. The club has also been awarded Club of the Year in 2013 and again in 2015. University football in St Andrews is going in the right direction. For more information please see below:
